Successfully Held 24th St. Euphemia Swimming Marathon in Rovinj: Swimmers Enjoyed Beautiful Weather and Competition

Rovinj, September 12, 2023

On Saturday, September 9, 2023, in the beautiful sandy bay of Valdaliso in Rovinj, the 24th St. Euphemia Swimming Marathon took place under the patronage of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno and the Rovinj-Rovigno Sports Community. The weather was absolutely perfect, creating ideal conditions for the competition at this enchanting location in front of the City Indoor Pool on the pebble beach of the Martin Horvat Rovinj-Rovigno Special Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.

This year's marathon attracted 136 brave swimmers from Croatia and beyond, including swimmers from Serbia, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and Slovenia. Participants were divided into two main categories - the Small Figarola race at 1500 meters and the Big Figarola race at 3000 meters.

In the women's Small Figarola category, Nikka Brajković (PK Delfin) deservedly took first place with a time of 26:42, while in the men's category, Toni Crnković (PK Delfin) dominated with a time of 21:54. In the Big Figarola race, Dora Đukić (PK Delfin) triumphed in the women's competition with a time of 44:41, while Dino Crnković (PK Delfin) secured the absolute first place in the men's category with a time of 42:14.

All details about the winners and their results, as well as additional information about the race, are available on the website www.stotinka.hr. Check out reviews, photos, and videos on the website www.rovinjswim.com.

The organization of this year's marathon was exceptionally successful, and the swimmers expressed their satisfaction not only with the outstanding weather but also with the excellent lunch served (including the famous meat and bean stew). Special thanks are due to Valalta for their generous donation of excellent Valalta craft beer.

In addition, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the City of Rovinj-Rovigno and the Sports Community of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno for their patronage, as well as to the companies Maistra dd, Valalta dd, the Swimming Association of the Istria County, and the Tourist Community of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno for their valuable donations that contributed to the success of the event.

This marathon would not have been possible without the efforts of numerous volunteers, members of the Delfin Swimming Club, and friends of the club who contributed to the organization of the competition.

In addition to trophies and medals, swimmers took home numerous prizes donated by generous Rovinj-based companies: Mirna d.d. Rovinj, Darna d.o.o. Rovinj, Neptun tavern, Vivoda winery, Panjoka winery, Matošević winery, La Dolce Vita- Breški pastry shop.

It is worth mentioning the companies that, through their donations, created this spectacular event to be even more beautiful and festive on World Beauty Day, including the following kind individuals: Martin Horvat Rovinj-Rovigno Special Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital, Palma Extreme sports equipment rental, Come Back Café, Rovinj-Rovigno Fire Department, Rovinj-Rovigno Red Cross, Rovinj-Rovigno Municipal Services, Aerial production d.o.o. Rovinj, Rovinj Underwater Activities Club, Martina Ukić-design, Lucija Ukić-photographer, Stanko Pajković-videographer, Ivan Sušilović-sound, Mediacom, Foto Duga.

The St. Euphemia Swimming Marathon in Rovinj was not just a competition; it was a day filled with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the sea's beauty.

"Don't blame us for any unintentional mistakes if there were any. We will make sure to strive to be even better next year," say the organizers from the Delfin Swimming Club Rovinj.

We expect this incredible experience to remain etched in the memories of all participants, from the youngest Anika Brajković to the legendary Rovinj swimmer Longin Sošić, and we look forward to seeing you next year at the 25th St. Euphemia Swimming Marathon.

May the sea always inspire and encourage you to swim and enjoy all the wonders it offers.

In the embrace of the sea, swim and enjoy!
